Scare Yourself a Little

Sans cesse, on me rappelait la lourdeur du passé. J’avais besoin aussi de me faire peur, de trouver ce qui était les prémisses de ma personalité pour être un chef. J’avais besoin de devenir ce que je suis, m’affranchir du passé et me sortir, on va dire, de l’academisme ou du carcan familial dans lequel je me trouvais.

I was constantly reminded of the weight of the past. I needed to scare myself a little bit. In order to find my personality as a chef, I had to become who I am, leave my past behind and break free from the shackles of my family’s legacy.
